RESPECT ME is a campaign to make everyone RESPECT ROBERT PATTINSON.
Recently after the excess of Twilight, Rob has been stalked by the paparazzi everywhere he goes. A few days ago he was literally attacked by crazy, wild fans during the first day filming on the set of “Remember Me”. He didn’t need bodyguards before, but now because of crazy fans he HAS to have them. So, we are really really tired and mad with those girls, the media and fansites that have been publishing things about his PRIVATE life and/or stalking him everywhere!
We know that now he is under the spotlight and everyone wants to know what is he doing or where he is, but there are ways to do so properly, and we know so many girls in the world want to know him, be near him or take pictures with him, but there are ways too!, He is not an OBJECT, he is a human being that NEEDS to walk, breathe, WORK or even smoke in peace! It is so sad to watch videos of the disturbing things in NY with girls crowding to take pics with Rob anyhow! That’s so RUDE girls! That’s not being a REAL fan! See that Rob’s expression broke our hearts and almost made us cry! Really!
So, we decided to start this campaign against all that we think is not cool to Rob! He needs to be respected! You need to respect his private life!

I completely agree, bb :] this is one of the reasons I don't post GOSSIP on my community. I think his life and what he does while not working, should remain private. I'll post something on LJ telling people about the site, bb :] also you can post this on "ed_bell_lovers" if you want? I think this is a great idea!

Of course I'll post this....stalking and paparazzi and gossip are great problems, we have the same problems in my community Best Orlando, about actor Orlando Bloom, who two years ago was stalked by paparazzi after a car accident...

I was wondering about this....my lj is not specifically related to Rob but I think that it will be cool if your community will, so perhaps you can email them and wrote about the support to the campaign, they wrote to do this on the website...

I agree with this so much! Rob getting hit by that cab is the last straw for me. What does it take for him to get better security and a little peace? It hurts me so much for him.
Those crazy "fans" should be prosecuted for pawing and hanging all over him. If this was a FEMALE celebrity it would not be allowed nor be ACCEPTABLE!

I just heard about him getting hit by a cab trying to escape from his 'fans' in NYC .. wow .. I'm glad he's all right but it could have been much worse! That's insane. I feel bad for the guy.

It is. I don't really follow Rob or anything but I did watch a video of him being 'attacked' by his fans the other day on youtube. He's in the city to work on a movie .. the fans need to leave him alone! I don't even know how they can call themselves 'fans'. The whole situation IS disgusting. Hearing that he was hit by a cab because he was trying to get away from his fans is insane. I hope they back off and let the guy do what he needs to while in NY.

I hope the same...those people are only fanatics and are as abd as paparazzi that snapped pics and stalked Orlando after his car accident two years ago....really disgusting

It is a miserable situation and one that every attractive young celebrity seems to face. It is getting more dangerous and frightening. People are getting hurt. I'm not sure how much effect a campaign like this will have - the message will probably not reach the people who need to hear it - but it is worth trying. The internet can be a powerful communication tool and influence people in unexpected ways. Let's hope for the best.

This is a great idea! It frustrates me to no end to see Robert being attacked the way he is. Do these girls have no shame? It makes us decent fans looks sooo bad. I will totally support this.
